Phoenix | DBG Butterfly Pavilion
The Butterfly Pavilion at the Desert Botancial Garden is a 3,200 square foot open-air butterfly pavilion. This innovative venture encompasses a one-story, unconditioned, screen-enclosed freestanding structure that authentically replicates the natural habitat of butterflies. Additionally, a one-story enclosed and conditioned building has been constructed for the reception and care of butterfly pupae until they mature and are released into the screened enclosure.
The pavilion hosts interpretive and interactive exhibits, engaging activities, and ongoing research initiatives. Among its features are live butterflies, a caterpillar nursery, and an emergence chamber, providing visitors with an up-close interaction with these delicate creatures while learning about the intricacies of their lifecycles.
